Media Relations

Policy

The Frisco Police Department's Media Relations Unit strives to maintain a positive and open line of communication with the media and assist in their efforts to gather factual public information pertaining to activities of the department and events within the city.

The unit also works to ensure citizens' awareness of items relating to the police department, public safety, state and local laws, and important events in Frisco.

Media Inquiries

Routine media inquiries are handled as expeditiously as possible during normal business hours. During normal business hours, the Media Relations Office can be reached at 972-292-6133 or fpdpio@friscotexas.gov. Please be as specific as possible about the incident you are inquiring about by including the type of case -- date, approximate time, address, type of incident, etc.

After Hours

Inquiries made outside of normal business hours can normally be handled by email (fpdpio@friscotexas.gov) or the dedicated media line (972-292-6133), and the department staffs an on-call Public Information Officer (PIO) to respond in a timely manner.

However, the purpose of the on-call PIO is to address immediate news concerns that cannot wait until the following business day.  Additionally, the on-call PIO will not provide information about previous cases not considered breaking news, and will not have information regarding non-fatal car crashes or routine arrests.

**PLEASE NOTE: All police-related records requests and Public Information Requests must be submitted to our Records Division.
