Training
Mission
It is the goal of the Frisco Police Department's Training Unit to provide job-related training to all police department employees with the goal of:
- Better preparing them to act appropriately in a vast number of situations.
- Increasing employee productivity and effectiveness through greater job knowledge.
- Enhancing the career development of department staff at all levels.
Responsibilities
The Training Unit is responsible for:
- Scheduling classes that utilize the FPD training room, gun range, and joint PD/FD Public Safety Training Facility.
- Reporting hours to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for classes completed at our facilities.
- Coordinating employee attendance for training held at other agencies.
- Coordinating the Police Cadets while they attend the basic police academy.
