Fire Explorers

The Frisco Fire Department offers a program for high school students enrolled in grades 9-12 (15-19 yrs.) who are interested in an in-depth program with hands on training to learn about a career in the fire service.  The application period for the 2024-2025 school year will run August 1-31, 2024.  Interviews will be in September.

The Frisco Fire Explorers program aims to develop young adults in our community through real-life experiences, training, and exposure to the career opportunities available in the fire and EMS service.  Members may have the opportunity to ride along with fire personnel on emergency calls, assist with specific duties on scenes and spend time in the stations with the crews.

The candidates will be required to demonstrate skills in the task book and be approved by the Training Chief before being assigned a station.  Candidates will attend two monthly meetings to learn the skills needed to progress in the program.
