Frisco's Weather Station

As part of its commitment to use our water resources responsibly, in 2008, the City of Frisco installed a Campbell Scientific weather station and four rain gauges so that it could present its residents with local watering recommendations. These recommendations take the guess work out of irrigation and help prevent over-watering.

Weather Station: Installation

Frisco's weather station and rain gauges collect daily temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and evapotranspiration or ET (the amount of water lost from your landscape) data.

This data is used each week to calculate how much water needs to be applied to your landscape - based on our local soil types and time of year.
