(May 8, 2024) Frisco’s ‘outdoor watering schedule’ for residents just got simpler.  Last night, the Frisco City Council adopted the city’s Water Management Plan, which now defines the seasons by specific dates:   

• Spring (April 1 – May 31): One day per week on regular trash day 
• Summer (June 1 – August 31): Two days per week – regular trash day plus designated day (table) 
• Fall (September 1 – October 31): One day per week on regular trash day 
• Winter (November 1 – March 31): No watering 

"The simplified schedule also will be easier for homeowners to use consistently, which ultimately helps us conserve water,” said Ron Garcia, Utilities Superintendent, Public Works.  

Also included in the Water Management Plan is the ‘Year-Round Outdoor Watering Schedules’.  During summer, residents may water twice per week -- on their regular trash day and on a second, designated watering day. Outdoor watering during spring and fall is limited to one day per week on a resident’s designated trash day.  During winter, no outdoor watering of turfgrass, by rotor or spray nozzles, is allowed.

Prohibited outdoor watering hours remain the same; no outdoor watering (using automatic irrigation) during 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Drip irrigation, bubblers and micro irrigation are still allowed when needed.
