Hear from the Team

"Teaching swim lessons is some of the most fulfilling work I’ve ever done. I get to help people either conquer fears or become better athletes depending on what level of swimmer they are."
— Markel, Swim Instructor

"As a third generation lifeguard, I understand the risks but also the rewards that come with the job. I also wanted families to be able to feel safe while making memories — just like I did when I was younger."
— Kathryn, Head Lifeguard

"It's honestly one of the most fun jobs I've ever had."
— Jenna, Member Services

This is an American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification class that will certify the participant in Waterpark Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, Oxygen Administration, and Bloodborne Pathogen Training. This is a two-year certification, except for Bloodborne Pathogen which must be renewed each year. In order to participate in this class, you must pass a pre-course which consists of a 300-yard continuous swim using front crawl and/or breaststroke, tread water for two minutes using only your legs, and a timed event which includes swimming 20 yards, picking up a 10lb brick from the bottom of 7-10 feet of water and swimming it back keeping both hands on the brick. This course is a blended learning course and there will be online content that the participant must complete. The instructor will send a link to the online content prior to the class. The participant MUST attend all class sessions and complete the online content to pass.
