Message from the Chief

Welcome to the Frisco Police Department. I am honored to lead the bright and hard-working men and women who make up our department. Frisco is one of the fastest-growing cities in America and is known as Sports City USA. Frisco is home to six professional sports teams—the Dallas Cowboys, FC Dallas, Dallas Stars, Frisco RoughRiders, Texas Legends, and the Frisco Fighters—and will soon be the headquarters for the PGA of America.

Frisco is unique not only because of its sports tourism; it is also consistently known as one of the safest cities in America. This is accomplished with a quality police department that develops partnerships with our diverse community to resolve crime issues and concerns. Our relationship with our school district, Frisco ISD, is a primary example of the important partnerships we have with our community. Our quality schools help to draw many new residents to Frisco, and we do our part in ensuring the safety of each and every student in the district. Our partnership with Frisco ISD provides a School Resource Officer at every middle and high school campus, while also keeping watch over each elementary campus.

Our partnership with our community is another reason why Frisco maintains low crime rates. We serve a diverse community and are intentional about listening to everyone in our city in order to respond to concerns. We empower our citizens through a variety of programs, including SafeCam, Tip411, Citizens on Patrol, and Frisco Community Awareness Night, giving citizens an active role in keeping their community safe. An engaged community not only makes us more effective in fighting crime, but has also earned Frisco the distinction of being voted one of the best places to raise a family in 2019 according to a recent survey.

Being the home to a variety of venues, combined with the phenomenal growth of the city, makes the Frisco Police Department unique while providing ample opportunities. If you are seeking a career in law enforcement, our department offers a chance to be part of a team that affords you the opportunity to help shape our growing department and put you in positions to gain experience working major special events. We also invest heavily in our employees through a variety of training, whether it’s for patrol, a specialized unit, career development, or leadership training. Contact our Recruiting Division if you are interested in joining our team through any of the sworn or civilian career opportunities, we have available.

The men and women of the Frisco Police Department stand ready to serve and assist you. They demonstrate professionalism and the best that law enforcement has to offer. I encourage to you learn more about our department by connecting with us on social media, exploring the website further, or contacting us.

Sincerely,

Shilson sigDavid A. Shilson, Chief of Police
