School Resources

The School Resource Officer program is a partnership between the Frisco Police Department and the Frisco Independent School District (FISD). School Resource Officers (SROs) are full-time Frisco police officers assigned to all middle and high schools in FISD. In addition, those officers assigned to middle schools are also tasked with maintaining positive relations with the district's elementary schools.

The primary purposes of the SRO program are reduction and prevention of crimes committed by juveniles and young adults. The SROs serve three fundamental functions in their role:

  1. Law Enforcement Officer
  2. Teacher
  3. Counselor

Additional goals of the program include: establishing a rapport with students, parents, faculty, staff and administrators; creating and expanding programs with vision and creativity to increase student participation; present a positive image for students; and provide safety for students and others within the school district.
