Go back in time with us to the turn of the 20th century with a guided walking tour! This 90-minute tour brings you through the Museum, the Smith-Muse House, the Crozier-Sickles House, and the Lebanon Baptist Church. On this tour, you’ll learn the historical significance of the buildings, get a taste of what life was like in Frisco when they were built, and hear the incredible stories of the pioneers who lived and gathered in them. You will also discover a steam locomotive, a blacksmith shop, a one-room schoolhouse, and even a log cabin!

Whether you’re a first-time visitor to Frisco or have lived here your whole life, we’re sure you will learn something new!

Participants should wear weather-appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes as the Walking Tours are outside.

Tours are given on Wednesdays. They are available by advance request and are subject to the availability of staff.  Cost is $10 per person.

School Tour at Frisco Heritage Center Opens in new windowSchool Tours

School Tours are fully booked for the 2023/2024 school year.

Interested in having your public, private or homeschool group visit the museum? Please fill out a School Tour request form and staff will contact you within three business days. 

Curriculum for school tours is currently aligned to second grade Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) standards, but is easily adjusted for other age groups upon request. A full docent-led tour of the Frisco Heritage Museum takes place only on Thursdays or Fridays and includes:

  • examples of how modes of transportation changed over time to shape the development of communities
  • an overview of life in Frisco when it was a small farming community and how it has grown
  • how cotton goes from seed to cloth and its once important role in the area's economy
  • hands-on experience of printing on a vintage letterpress
  • living history presentation in our one-room schoolhouse

Docent-led tour cost: $7 per student, $4 per parent (pay online in advance); teachers accompanying class are free of charge.

NEW: Teacher-led tour option is new for the 2022-23 school year!  These tours still must be scheduled and will take place only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.  Teacher-led tours include student-driven interactive materials with a teacher's guide.  This will be emailed prior to the visit.  

Teacher-led tours cost: $5 per student, $4 per parent (pay online in advance); teachers accompanying class are free of charge.  

Advance reservation is required for both Teacher and Docent led tours, and subject to date and docent availability.

Youth Tours

Scout Troops, Day Care Centers, and other groups may request guided tours of the Frisco Heritage Museum. Tours of the Frisco Heritage Museum can include:

  • an overview of life in Frisco when it was a small farming community representative of other Texas towns with similar origins
  • how cotton goes from field to cloth and its once important role in the area's economy
  • hands-on experience of printing on a vintage letterpress
  • tour of the one-room schoolhouse

Cost is $7 per child for a docent-led tour and $5 per child for a self-guided tour; adult chaperones accompanying the group are $4 per adult.  The group's tour organizer is free.
Minimum 2 week advance reservation is required and subject to staff/docent availability.

Please fill out a Youth Tour request form and staff will contact you within three business days. 

Adult Tours

Tours for groups of adults are available upon request. Tours of the Frisco Heritage Museum include an overview of life in Frisco when it was a small farming community representative of other Texas towns with similar origins. See examples of transportation technology like our 1913 Ford Model T Touring car, learn about how cotton goes from field to cloth and its once important role in the area's economy, and view the interiors of the Crozier house, Lebanon Church, and other Frisco Heritage Center structures depending on availability.

Cost is $10 per person*
