Inspections

The Fire Prevention Office is responsible for all inspections including but not limited to fire sprinkler, fire alarm, kitchen hood suppression, fire finals, tenant finish out, above and underground storage tanks, access security gates, building and security control systems, foster care, adoption and annual state inspections.

Review the guidelines below before submitting your request:

  • Upon submission, you will be contacted within 24 hours or next business day to schedule your inspection.
  • An inspection is not scheduled until you are contacted by the Fire Prevention Office.
  • Inspections will be conducted Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Every effort will be made to grant you the time and date requested.
  • Inspections warranted outside of regular business hours must be scheduled 48 hours in advance and may require an additional fee.
  • Building owner and/or tenant notification is required where necessary.
  • Every effort will be made to grant you the time and date requested.
  • A representative from the requesting company must be present at time of inspection.
  • A permit shall be posted in a permanent location until the completion of the project.
  • An approved set of stamped or signed plans shall be available on-site for the inspector.
  • All previous inspection reports must remain on site for the inspectors viewing. Contractor shop drawings are not considered approved plans.
