K9 Unit

The Frisco Police Department started its K9 Unit in 2015, currently comprised of two teams. This specialized unit is used on a citywide basis and is predominantly used for the search of illegal narcotics. The K9 unit is used to support patrol operations and criminal investigations, not limited to tracking suspects, handler protection, and evidence recovery. Additionally, either team can assist area law enforcement agencies when called upon.
