Short-Term & Long-Term Disability

Disability Benefits

The City provides basic Short Term Disability (STD) and Long Term Disability (LTD) for benefit-eligible employees. This benefit is paid for by the City of Frisco and enrollment is automatic.

Disability leave runs concurrent with other types of leave, such as Family and Medical Leave (FML) or City Leave of Absence (City LOA). For more information, visit the FMLA and City LOA webpages.

If you are a full-time (female) employee expecting a baby, you may be eligible for some Short Term Disability (STD) benefits. Please see our New Baby and Leave of Absence page for details and an example of how this benefit applies.

To initiate a disability claim or set up a leave of absence under FML or City LOA, contact the Standard at 866-756-8116 or go to their website to file a claim. View more information on setting up a leave of absence.
