Homebuilder Complaint Policy

Getting Started

A homeowner having a complaint against a homebuilder can register a complaint with the City of Frisco Building Inspections with a letter addressed to Frisco Building Official at 6101 Frisco Square Boulevard, 3rd Floor, Frisco, TX 75034 or contact may be made by telephone at 972-292-5338 or by email.

The City's Next Step

A Building Inspections representative will establish contact with the homeowner to ascertain if a code or ordinance violation exists. The Building Inspections representative will visit the homeowner's house to make this determination. The Building Inspections representative will inform the homeowner during this visit if there is a code or other ordinance violation. If a violation does not exists, the Building Inspections representative will inform the homeowner that Building Inspections will not pursue the complaint any further.

When An Ordinance Violation Occurs

If a code or ordinance violation is verified, a Building Inspections representative will contact the homebuilder. This notification will be by letter and/or verbal, when possible. A Building Inspections representative may also start a file where correspondence and other pertinent information will be retained. A Building Inspections representative will continue to monitor and follow up on the complaint until the code or ordinance violation is abated.

Building Inspections will use all means and powers granted by City ordinance and adopted codes to bring resolution to all complaints. Complaints about matters outside the ordinances and adopted codes will have to be resolved by the homeowner and homebuilder through other means or as provided by contractual agreement.
