Stormwater Utility Fee

The Frisco City Council adopted the Stormwater Utility Fee in January 2009 in order to address state-mandated stormwater regulations. The collected fees are used to cover the cost of programs required to comply with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) August 2007 General Permit to discharge stormwater.

The collected fees are used to cover the cost of programs required to comply with the TCEQ General Permit to discharge stormwater. The purpose is to reduce stormwater pollution.

The fee is based on average lot sizes and the lot's structures. Using Geographical Information System (GIS) technology, city staff compared approximately 20,000 properties to determine the average lot size and develop the tiered fee structure.
