Junior Citizen's Fire Academy

Jr. CFA - 2024

Session 1 - June 10-14
Session 2- June 17-21

The application period for 2024 has closed.

Does your middle schooler want to learn what it takes to be a Frisco Firefighter? The Frisco Fire Department offers Jr. Citizen’s Fire Academy (CFA), which is open to students who live in Frisco and/or attend Frisco ISD schools and is FREE of charge. The class is designed for students who are currently in the 6th, 7th or 8th grades. This program is intended for students who have NOT previously participated in Frisco's Jr. CFA program.

The academy is one week long and will take place at the Public Safety Training Center, 15155 Donnie Mayfield Way in Frisco. The hours are:

  • 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday
  • 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday

A graduation ceremony, which parents are invited to attend, will be at 12 p.m. on Friday.

Class attendees enjoy fun drills and challenges that simulate what a real firefighter would do in the course of a day’s work. Students are actively engaged as part of a ’company’ and participate in educational activities throughout the day. It’s a great opportunity to make new friends from across Frisco and learn about the fire service.

Class attendees will receive a complimentary shirt and water bottle.
