Fire Explorers

The Frisco Fire Department now offers a program for high school students enrolled in grades 9-12. This new program will launch in January of 2024.  The application period will be at the beginning of the  2023-2024 school year. 

The Frisco Fire Explorers program aims to develop young adults in our community through real-life experiences, training, and exposure to the career opportunities available in the fire and EMS service.  Members will have the opportunity to ride along with fire personnel on emergency calls, assist with specific duties on scenes and spend time in the stations with the crews.

Eligibility

To be eligible for membership in the Fire Explorer program individuals must meet the following criteria:

  • Current or rising high school students in grades 9-12, ages 15-19. 
  • Live in the City of Frisco, be enrolled in a high school within Frisco ISD or be sponsored by an employee of the City of Frisco. 
  • Maintain a GPA of 3.0 if in school and submit proof of grades each semester. 
  • Fire Explorers are responsible for all fees, dues and assessments related to the program. 
  • All participants will be required to pass a background check.
  • Maintain all eligibility requirements throughout duration of his/her participation in the program.
