Water Infrastructure Projects

To enhance potable water storage and pressure to the rapidly developing north side of Frisco, city engineers have multiple projects underway.

Water Tower at PGA and Preston

Construction is in progress on a 2.5 million gallon elevated water storage tank at Preston Road and PGA Parkway. It will provide potable water storage and pressure to the growing northwestern part of the city. The base of the tank measures 56 feet in diameter, and the overall height (from the ground to the top) will be approximately 220 feet.

Construction on the water tower began in August. Anticipated project completion is Q3 of 2025.

Design is in progress on Frisco Pump Station #4. The project consists of four components: a pump station, a water distribution pipeline, ground storage tanks, and a connection to the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) water distribution system. It will increase storage capacity of potable water to support development in north Frisco and provide adequate water pressure. Two ground storage tanks, with a total combined capacity of 20 million gallons, will help to meet growing needs. The City of Frisco is a member city of the NTMWD and purchases drinking water from the district.
