ADA Transition Plan and Resources

Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) prohibits local governments from discriminating against people on the basis of their disability and from excluding people from participation in programs, services or activities because of their disability.

Title II of the ADA requires local governments to conduct a self-evaluation to assess its current policies and practices to determine whether they adversely affect the full participation of individuals with disabilities in its programs, activities or services. When barriers to full participation are found, local governments are required to devise a plan to remove them.

In 2014, the City of Frisco performed a self-evaluation of all services, activities, and programs offered by city departments. City staff has been actively working to identify and rectify any identified opportunities for improvement since the beginning of the initiative.
