Related Agencies

Engineering Services coordinates with other agencies on the design, construction, and maintenance of infrastructure improvements in the city.

The following agencies are responsible for different areas of construction:

  • The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of federal and state highways. Within the City of Frisco, this includes U.S. 380, FM 121, FM 289/Preston Road, FM 423, FM 2478/Custer Road (Main St. to U.S. 380), FM 2934/Eldorado (FM 423 - Dallas Parkway), and FM 3537/Main Street (Preston Road to Custer Road).
  • The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of tollways in North Texas, which includes the Dallas North Tollway. You may view the Dallas North Tollway Phase 3 Map (PDF).
  • The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) coordinates among the various local governments and other agencies in North Texas to prioritize and allocate federal funds to projects that benefit the region.
  • The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) is responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of water treatment plants, major water transmission lines, and wastewater treatment plants, serving a variety of communities north and east of Dallas. Distribution and collection lines within each city are the responsibility of that city.
  • Collin County and Denton County are responsible for the design, construction, and maintenance of roadways in unincorporated areas. They coordinate with TxDOT, NTTA, NCTCOG, and local municipalities to design, construct, and fund roadways that benefit the county.
