The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) is provided by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These funds must be used primarily to benefit low- and moderate-income persons living in the City of Frisco.
Possible uses of funds include:
Acquisitions or purchases of public facilities
Rehabilitation of housing stock for low- and moderate-income homeowners
Provision of services concerned with housing, employment, crime prevention, child care, health, drug abuse, education, fair housing, energy conservation, welfare, or recreation.
Up to 15% of the grant amount may be provided for public services.
The City of Frisco received notification that it will be receiving Community Development Block Grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for $719,608 for the program year 2023. The City estimates an approximate $13,000 will be earned in program income and $60,184 of previous years' funds for reallocation for a total of $792,791.
