Shannon Brinton is a Deputy Fire Chief serving as a Shift Commander for the City of Frisco.   He also provides executive leadership over the Frisco Fire Department’s Training Division and Wildland Program.

Chief Brinton has called Frisco home since 1984 and attended Frisco ISD before enrolling in the fire academy.  He joined the Frisco Fire Department in 1995 as a volunteer and was hired full-time in 1999.  He was promoted to Battalion Chief in 2007 and Deputy Fire Chief in 2023.

He served as a Firefighter/Paramedic, Lieutenant, Captain, and Battalion Chief in the Operations Division before moving to the Training Division in 2014.  As the Training Chief, he facilitated all department training efforts for the next two years.  In 2016, Chief Brinton became the department’s first Special Operations Chief.   This role included formalizing Spec-Ops training, purchasing specialized equipment/apparatus, and building a regional asset.  

As the Wildland program manager for over a decade, Chief Brinton has coordinated and participated in many wildfire deployments within Texas and California.  As a member of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System, he served as the regional Division Coordinator, facilitating wildfire and all-hazard deployments for fire departments within a four-county region. 

Chief Brinton holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Fire Service Administration from Weatherford College and is nearing completion of his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Organizational Leadership from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
