Jury Response for Exemption or Disqualification

  1. Important Information - Please Read

You may use this form to claim an exemption or disqualification from serving as a juror in the City of Frisco Municipal Court.  A prospective juror must notify the court of a disqualification as a juror.  An exemption may be claimed by a potential juror but is not required.

You may call 972-292-5554 after 5:00 P.M. the night before your date of service to determine if your appearance is required for Jury Duty. Please listen to the entire message, as it provides important information regarding your service.

Exempt or Disqualified: You do not need to appear in person if you are exempt or not qualified for jury service. To claim an exemption or report your disqualification you must complete and file this form immediately.

Right to Reemployment: A private employer may not terminate the employment of a permanent employee because the employee serves as a juror. An employee whose employment is terminated in violation of this section is entitled to return to the same employment that the employee held when summoned for jury service if the employee, as soon as practical after release from jury service, gives the employer actual notice that the employee intends to return(Civil Practice and Remedies Code, Sec. 122.001).

State law does not allow a person to be excused for economic or business reasons. Hardships or concerns may be addressed in the Court when you appear.
