(June 19, 2023) Frisco’s City Manager says the best person to lead the Frisco Fire Department into the future already calls Frisco ‘home’.   

Wes Pierson, City Manager, is promoting Lee Glover to Frisco Fire Chief.  Since September of last year, Chief Glover has served as Interim Fire Chief.  Glover was selected from five finalists from throughout Texas.  

“Lee’s combination of experience, knowledge and leadership was the best fit for the department,” said Wes Pierson, City Manager.  “I believe Lee is deeply committed to the success of Team Frisco and will work hard to serve our community and members of FFD.”  

Chief Glover started his career with the Frisco Fire Department in 1991.  He worked his way up the department’s career ladder becoming a Lieutenant, Captain and Deputy Chief.  He served as an Assistant Chief from  2009 – 2022, overseeing areas of Administration, Support Services and Emergency Services.

“I’m truly honored to be chosen as the next Fire Chief of Frisco,” said Chief Lee Glover, Frisco Fire Department.  “We will continue to provide outstanding fire and emergency medical services.  But we’ll also focus on fire prevention, too.  We’ll continue to adhere to the highest standards and be a department our residents, businesses and all our employees are proud of.”

The Frisco Fire Department is internationally accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI).  The Frisco Fire Department also has the highest insurance rating awarded by the Insurance Service Office, ISO #1.  Frisco’s Fire Department has 278 employees including administration, fleet, fire prevention and 233 assigned to fire operations. The department is also home to Frisco Fire Safety Town presented by Texas Health Hospital Frisco, the first of its kind in the U.S.  

Chief Glover holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A & M University Commerce and an associate degree from Collin College.  Chief Glover is an Executive Fire Officer as well as a member of the Denton County Chief’s Association, the International Association of Fire Chiefs and the Texas Chief’s Association.  

Chief Glover assumes his new role effective immediately.
