Frisco Police Seek the Public’s Assistance in Fatal Shooting

FRISCO, TX – The Frisco Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in a shooting that left one person dead and another wounded.

On Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at approximately 9:34 p.m., Frisco Police Officers responded to a shooting in the area of the Walmart located on the northwest corner of Preston Road and Hickory Street. Callers into Dispatch advised of hearing gun shots, and it was reported that at least one person was believed to have been shot.

Upon arrival to the area, Officers located one subject in the parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds, and a second subject nearby on Hickory with multiple gunshot wounds. While Officers searched the area for possible suspects, other Officers secured the scene so that both victims could receive medical aid.  Personnel from the Frisco Fire Department then transported both wounded to local hospitals for treatment. Despite lifesaving measures, one of the victims later succumbed to their wounds, while the second is currently in stable condition.  The identities of both victims are not being released at this time.

No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.  Detectives are actively working to develop suspect information and asking anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Frisco Police Department at (972) 292-6010. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by texting FRISCOPD and the tip to 847411 (tip411) or by downloading the Frisco PD app.

While initial information suggested that this was an isolated incident, upon further investigation it appears that the two victims were shot at random.  As such, the Frisco Police Department would like to remind residents and visitors that while these types of crimes are fortunately rare in our city, the criminal element is always working to take advantage of any opportunity to victimize members of our community.  Here are some things to keep in mind when you are out and about:

Be aware of your surroundings and exercise greater vigilance in areas where you are most comfortable.

Reduce or eliminate opportunities that may make you appealing to a criminal, e.g., walking alone, looking down at your phone, wearing headphones.

    Trust your instincts.

Report any suspicious activity by calling our non-emergency line (972-292-6010) or dialing 9-1-1
